This is Mackezie Lynn Cooley on her first birthday (party cancelled due to snow) but I believe she still enjoyed it. She carried her new Disney Princess toothbrush and tried to eat the wrapping paper. Casey got a pair of Spiderman slippers (now referred to as 'man' slippers) so he wouldn't feel left out.

Pacific Northwest Snowed In!

This is how my street looked after 8 days of snow. I no longer like snow. People say this is the worst cold we've had in 40 years, as it didn't get above freezing for 7 days. I moved out here for the mild weather!

Christmas Day. Mackenzie opeded up her first Barbie doll. I have gone so overboard to the 'pink side,' I'm looking forward to having my first tea party. Casey got a real trike with petals and books. We had a big turkey, lots of mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce with crescent rolls. As always, our celebration included four special people I refer to as my 'others. Kyle, his wife Claudette and their children, Kyle Jr and Anna; my other son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter. I have an embarrassment of riches out here, that help when I so far away from my sibs and all their kids.

I would love for any to send in a comment with their favorite holiday photo and news. I know that Wes won the Fantasy Football thing, Alexandra has been admitted to Marshall with scholarships and Jimmy was home for Christmas. What is everyone else doing?
Love, Peggy

Just a beginning...

Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2008

I have wanted to have a family blog for quite a while, but have been too intimidated by my lasck of technical abilities to do so.

So, I need help from all of you to make this work.

Send in your thoughts and photos so that our far-flung family can stay connected.

As for me, I'm currently defined by my role as "Grammie." I'm telling you, being a grandparent is full of wonder and excitement, and my wish is that my siblings (other than Hilburn and Cheryl, who already know) experience these feelings--when their children are ready to be parents.

John and Haley are very busy; John at Prince Telecom doing cable installations, and Haley at an Alzheimer's facility as a lead CNA. The babies, Casey (2) and Mackenzie (11 mos) are active, happy kids. Casey runs everywhere and Mackenzie is walking and very proud of herself.

Daniel has recently been promoted to Assistant Manager at All Star Ford in Olympia. He's hoping to move out from home with some friends.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Peggy
